How to get access to pay-per-task billing What to do if pay-per-task is not enabled on your account How pay-per-task billing works Limit on pay-per-task usage Opt out of pay-per-task billing

Pay-per-task billing allows you to keep running your business-critical Zaps in case you reach your plan’s task limit before the end of the billing cycle. This feature is only available on paid Zapier plans.

How to get access to pay-per-task billing

You do not need to do anything to use pay-per-task billing. This feature is enabled by default and starts accruing automatically once you hit your plan's task limit.

What to do if pay-per-task is not enabled on your account

In some legacy Zapier plans, you may need to enable this feature before you can use it.

  1. Visit the Billing and usage page of your account.
  2. Click the Billing settings tab.
  3. Click the Enable pay-per-task button.
  4. Click Update your plan.

How pay-per-task billing works

At the end of your monthly billing cycle (when your task limit resets), Zapier charges you for all tasks that exceed your plan limit during that cycle. Each extra task is charged on a per-task basis, at a rate of 1.25 times your plan's task cost. This charge is separate from your monthly or annual plan charges. If you’re on an annual plan, Zapier will charge you monthly for any tasks used over your plan limit during a billing cycle.

You can see extra task usage on the Billing and usage page. The additional task usage counter will only be visible when pay-per-task is enabled or if your account has had additional task usage.

Limit on pay-per-task usage

Zaps will stop running if your account reaches the maximum pay-per-task usage amount. This is set at 3 times your plan's task limit, which includes your plan allocation and optional pay-per-task usage.

Example

If you're on a Professional 750 plan, your maximum task limit consists of 750 tasks from your normal task limit, plus 1500 tasks from your pay-per-task limit. This gives you a maximum task limit of 2250 tasks.

750 tasks (normal task limit) + 1500 tasks (pay-per-task limit)

= 2250 tasks (maximum task limit)

Opt out of pay-per-task billing

You can disable this feature in your account if you want your Zaps to stop running once you hit your plan's task limit.

  1. Visit the Billing and usage page of your account.
  2. Click the Billing settings tab.
  3. In the Per-task billing section, click the toggle to turn it off.

Pay-per-task will stop being used immediately. Any usage accrued before turning the feature off will be added to your next invoice.
