Symptoms
When using Formatter’s Number transform Perform Math Operation in your Zaps, you see the error message “Invalid Syntax: Only numeric values are allowed". You’ll see this error when testing your Zap step or in the details of a Zap run in your Zap history.
Causes
This happens when the mapped fields contain non-numerical values, such as commas, line items, or currency symbols. The Perform Math Operation transform only accepts numerical values and does not support line items.
How to fix it
To fix this:
- If your mapped values are line items:
- Use the Spreadsheet-Style Formula transform instead.
- Alternatively, you can add a Formatter step to convert line items into text strings.
- If your mapped values contain non-numerical values:
- Add a new Formatter step using the Text transform Replace.
- In the Find field enter the non-numerical value you wish to remove.
