When using Gmail’s Reply in Email action in your Zaps, you see the error message “Invalid id value". You’ll see this error in the details of a Zap run in your Zap's history.
Cause
This happens when the Thread field does not contain the thread ID (a series of numbers and letters), but instead contains text such as:
- Full name.
- The subject of an email.
How to fix it
- If your Zap contains a Gmail trigger, map the Thread ID field as a custom value, from the trigger data, to the Thread field in the Reply in Email action.
- If your Zap does not contain a Gmail trigger, you must add a Find Email action step. This will provide you with the Thread ID field associated with the email you want to reply to. You can then use a custom value in the Thread field of your Reply in Email action, to map the Thread ID from the Find Email action step.
