Limitations
- You can create up to 20 tokens per Airtable user for third-party integrations like Zapier.
- API Rate limits apply and vary depending on your Airtable plan type. Airtable enforces a rate limit of 5 requests per second per base to ensure optimal performance across all pricing tiers. Additionally, there is a limit of 50 requests per second for all traffic using personal access tokens from a given user or service account. If you exceed this rate, you will receive a 429 status code and must wait 30 seconds before subsequent requests will succeed.
- Airtable uses OAuth to authenticate your account on Zapier. Personal Access Tokens (PAT) cannot be used with Zapier as the Airtable app on Zapier specifically uses OAuth authentication.
- Update actions in Zapier overwrite existing data rather than appending to it, which may not be suitable for all use cases where data preservation is important.
