Limitations
- Gmail API has usage limits of 1,200,000 quota units per minute per project and 15,000 quota units per user per minute.
- Gmail has a limit of up to 15 email clients at a time per account. If you have many email clients getting messages from Gmail at the same time, you may get the error message "Too many simultaneous connections".
- Gmail has sending limits, which are based on the number of messages can be sent per day, the total number of recipients per message, and the overall of recipients per day. Exceeding sending limits can result in account suspension for up to 24 hours, and accounts that send spam might be permanently restricted
- Different Gmail triggers have specific time limits for detecting emails:
- New Labeled Email - Unlimited
- New Starred Email - 2 days
- New Email - 1 hour
- New Email Matching Search - 1 hour
- New Thread - 1 hour
- New Attachment - 1 hour
- Gmail and IMAP have poor support for non-C0 unicode characters, which can cause DjangoUnicodeDecodeError or LookupError.
- Not all HTML tags are supported when sending HTML emails through Zapier. Review the full list of HTML tags that are supported with Gmail.
- You can't reconnect your Gmail account after it's created. You must add a new app connection instead.
