Intercom and Zapier connect to automate customer support. You can trigger actions when new conversations start and create or update users and leads.

Prerequisites

To use the Intercom app on Zapier, you must have:

  • An active Intercom account (any plan - Essential, Advanced, or Expert).

Connect Intercom to Zapier

To create an app connection to Intercom on Zapier:

  • Go to the Apps page.
  • Click + Add connection.
  • A new dialog box will appear. Search for and select Intercom.
  • Click Add connection.
  • A new browser tab or window will open.
  • Log into Intercom to authenticate.
  • Grant Zapier permission to access your account if prompted to.

Your Intercom account is now successfully connected to Zapier.

  • Add/Remove Tag on Company - Attach or remove a tag from a specific company.
  • Update Ticket - Updates an existing ticket in Intercom.
  • Create User - Creates a new user in your Intercom app.

Limitations

  • The "Reply and close" button will not trigger the New Closed Conversation trigger. You must reply and then close the conversation separately for the trigger to work.
