With Formatter's Perform Math Operation transform, you can add math operations that use fields from triggers and actions in Zaps and send the results to other steps.
This can be useful if, for example, you receive a value in cents, but need it in dollar amounts.
1. Add a Formatter step to your Zap
- In the Zap outline, click the Action step or the plus sign + to add a new action. A dialog box will open.
- In the search box, search for and select Formatter. The right sidebar will open to the Setup tab.
- Click the Action event dropdown menu and select Numbers.
- Click Continue.
2. Set up your transform
Next, set up the action:
- Click the Transform dropdown menu and select Perform Math Operation.
- Click the Operation field and select which operation to perform:
- Addition
- Subtraction
- Multiplication
- Division
- Make a number negative
- In the Input field, map a field from a previous step or enter a list of values. More fields will appear when the first one is used.
- Click Continue.
The Perform Math Operation transform does not work with line items.
3. Test your step
- Click Test step. If the transformation is successful, the step will return the result.
Once you’ve set your Formatter step to pick a value from a list, you can add other actions to use the result in your Zap.
