When using either the Workday Create Time Off Request or Create Worker Time Block action, you see the error message “Permission denied”. You may see this error when setting up a Zap or in the details of a Zap run in your Zap history.
Causes
This happens when you are not a member of the required security group or when APIs are not enabled in your Workday account.
How to fix it
Only administrators of your Workday account can resolve the issue. Ensure you have the appropriate permissions before trying to fix this issue or contact an administrator.
To fix the issue:
Create Time Off Request action
- Contact your Workday administrator.
- Ask them to go to Initiating Action Request Time Off (REST Service) within Workday.
- In the Business Process Policy section, add your user to the appropriate group.
- Once you’ve been granted permission in Workday, reconnect your Workday app connection in Zapier.
Create Worker Time Block action
- Contact your Workday administrator.
- Ask them to go to View Domain Security Policy for Process: Time Block REST APIs within Workday and add your user to the appropriate group with the following permissions:
- “View” and “Modify” permissions for reports and tasks related to worker time blocks.
- “Get and “Put” permissions for integrations related to worker time blocks.
- Once you’ve been granted permission in Workday, reconnect your Workday app connection in Zapier.
