App tags provide information about the status of the app you’re using. They show whether an app has special requirements or describe the version of the app. Understanding these app tags will help you make informed decisions about an app’s features and usage.

Tag Description How it appears Impact on usage
Beta An app in active development, subject to change. Can be closed (invite-only) or open (available to any user) Displays a “Beta” tag.
  • Using beta apps may experience changes due to ongoing development.
Public Officially released, stable, and ready for widespread use. Does not display a tag.
  • Public apps are stable and fully supported.
Legacy Still available but no longer actively maintained or updated. A newer version usually exists. Displays a “Legacy” tag.
  • You can still use these, but eventually lose support and you won’t be able to add them to new workflows.
  • You may need to update your workflows to a newer app version.
Deprecating The app or specific version is still functional, but it has an announced end-of-life (EOL) date, indicating it will stop working in the future. This is a warning period. Displays a “Deprecating tag”.
  • This app is still usable until the EOL date.
  • You should migrate your workflows to use a newer version of the app before the EOL date, as the app version will stop working on that date.
Deprecated No longer supported or maintained, with a specific end-of-life (EOL) date Displays a “Deprecated” tag.
  • Plan to update to the latest version before the EOL date to ensure continued functionality. Zaps using it will be turned off on the EOL date.
  • You must update to the latest app version before the EOL date. 
Invite only A private app that you’ve been granted to. Displays an “Invite only” tag or envelope icon.
  • Access is restricted; only users with an invitation can use this app.
Premium A premium app that requires a paid Zapier plan to use. Displays a “Premium” tag.
  • If you are on a free plan you’ll need to upgrade to use a paid Zapier plan to use this app.
