Copy and paste a trigger step Copy and paste a single action step Copy and paste a path Limitations

If you have a trigger, action step, or path that you want to use in multiple Zaps, you can copy and paste that step or path across Zaps.

You can also reorder or duplicate action steps and paths within a Zap.

 

Copy and paste a trigger step

To copy and paste a trigger across Zaps:

  1. In the Zap editor, click Edit Zap in the top right corner.
  2. Click the three dot icon Nav: more horiz next to your trigger.
  3. Select Copy from the dropdown menu.
  4. A notification window will appear at the bottom of the screen indicating that your trigger was copied to your clipboard.
  5. Navigate to the Zap where you want to paste your trigger.
  6. Click the three dot icon Nav: more horiz next to the trigger where you want to paste your copied trigger step.
  7. Click Paste to replace to delete the selected trigger and replace it with the copied trigger.
  8. Test your trigger.

 

Copy and paste a single action step

To copy and paste a single action step across Zaps:

  1. In the Zap editor, click Edit Zap in the top right corner.
  2. Click the three dot icon Nav: more horiz next to the action step you want to copy.
  3. Select Copy from the dropdown menu.
  4. A notification window will appear at the bottom of the screen indicating that your action step was copied to your clipboard.
  5. Navigate to the Zap where you want to paste your action step.
  6. Click the three dot icon Nav: more horiz next to the action step where you want to paste your copied action step.
    1. Click Paste below to paste the copied action step below the selected action step.
    2. Click Paste to replace to delete the selected action step and replace it with the copied action step.
  7. Test your action step.

If you copy a Looping by Zapier step, the initial looping step and all subsection action steps will be copied.

 

Copy and paste a path

To copy and paste a path or path group across Zaps:

  1. In the Zap editor, click Edit Zap in the top right corner.
  2. Click the three dot icon Nav: more horiz next to the path or path group you want to copy.
  3. Select Copy from the dropdown menu.
  4. A notification window will appear at the bottom of the screen indicating that your path or path group was copied to your clipboard.
  5. Navigate to the Zap where you want to paste your path or path group step.
  6. Click the three dot icon Nav: more horiz next to the action step where you want to paste your copied action step.
    1. Click Paste below to paste the copied path or path group below the selected action step.
    2. Click Paste to replace to delete the selected action step and replace it with the copied action step.
  7. Test your action step.

All action steps, paths, and filter conditions for that path or path group will be copied.

 

Limitations

You can only:

  • Replace a single path with another single path.
  • Replace a path group with another path group.
  • Paste a path or path group at the end of a Zap.

You cannot copy and paste steps:

  • That use a private app connection that has not been shared with you.
  • That use a private app that you don’t have access to.
  • Between different Zapier accounts.
  • Between different internet browsers.
  • While using Firefox’s private mode.
